RBBC

RBBC – Painful, but here to stay

As a fantasy football fan it pains me to see so many running backs stuck in a committee situation, I’m looking at you Maurice Jones-Drew and Deuce Mcallister. It’s easy to look at those two backs and wonder what kinds of numbers they could put up if they were the only options on their respective teams. However, I think it’s a double-edged sword that could work for the best.

In previous seasons the RBBC hurt because guys like Tiki Barber, a moment of silence for the Giants great, would get all the yards and Brandon Jacobs would get all the TDs. It’s a little different now. Look at Chicago, Jacksonville, New Orleans, etc. where teams are using two backs and both of them are excelling. I think the RBBC is better for some backs. Fragile Fred Taylor, Corey Dillon and Deuce McAllister all managed to stay healthy this year while putting up solid numbers.

My advice, don’t ignore every RBBC situation. If it’s run properly with the right personnel it could your team to a fantasy championship.

Memorable boss battles

February 9th, 2007 by ep

Here is my initial list of 10 boss battles I won’t soon forget, in no particular order:

General Raam, Gears of War, Xbox 360

-One of the toughest boss battles I’ve ever played and a cool one, too.

The Flood, infection form first encounter during Halo, Xbox

-I remember having the chills every time another door opened and the tiny squid-like Flood poured out and shuffled toward me. I kept killing them and they kept coming.

Mother Brain, Metoid, NES

-Just the fact that I was at the end of this awesome game, then I beat the boss only to find out I had to race out of there before the whole place blew up. Awesomeness.

Colossus 1, Shadow of the Colossus, PS2

-Speaking of awesomeness, the first time you see a Colossus in this game it’s almost breathtaking. There are cooler Colossi than the first one, but that realization of how huge the first one is makes it memorable

Berserker, second encounter during Gears of War, Xbox 360

-I have to admit I struggled with this one, sidekick Dom kept dying. But figuring out that the Berserker had to break down the pillars, then getting her to stand in the open space was a tough, fun exercise.

Psycho Mantis, Metal Gear Solid, PS1

-He read my mind and I had to unplug my controller and use the Cont. 2 port to beat him. Nuff said.

Gran Bruce, Viewtiful Joe, GameCube

-This game was all sorts of cool, but I hate bosses who heal themselves while throwing pirahna, mines and sea-floor junk at you.

Parasite Queen, Metroid Prime, PS2

-As a Metroid fan, I was a little hesitant to see the game move to the first-person-shooter genre. It took a little while to get used too, but at the first boss you could already tell it was going to be Metroid, only better.

Colossus No. 5, Shadow of the Collosus, PS2

-I haven’t played the second flying Colossus in this game, but this first one was very cool looking and more fun than difficult

Halo 2, Scarab, Xbox

-I have to admit I didn’t find this battle remotely difficult, but I was glad it was in there. When I first saw the massive walking Covenant contraption I wondered to myself, “I sure hope I get to fight that thing.”
