Baseball season is here…

April 2nd, 2007 by ep

It’s only just begun, but watching ESPN’s Baseball Tonight before the season opener between the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals reminded me how awesome the show was.

Baseball Tonight is one of the best-produced and knowledgeable shows on television. Especially considering it’s a daily show trying to cram the latest games and happenings into it’s program. It’s not easy to edit clips, put together graphics, script everything for the anchors and plug it in mid-show.

And, on top of that, we get to watch the best baseball announcing crew in the business after Baseball Tonight. What ESPN’s Jon Miller and Joe Morgan do should be a template for all announcing crews to follow.

We also get to see an NLCS rematch in the opener. Then tomorrow (Monday) we get a pile of games all day long, NCAA basketball and Fox’s 24 at night. Get the VCR or DVR ready, you’re going to need it.
