GamerScore Update for 4.8.07

April 8th, 2007 by ep

After rocketing past 16,000, my score feels a little cheap.

epGotU’s total GamerScore points “earned” are 16,300. I played some History Channel: Civil War since my last post. It’s a disappointing game because it is clearly a budget title and there is potential here. I played through the campaign on easy mode, unlocking several achievements in the process. There are bonuses for so many kills with the knife or the pistol, so I tried to get those over the course of playing.

After finishing the game, I read online about the Dead-Eye achievements. These reward players for having a 95% shooting accuracy rate on each level of the game. The plan is to take one shot, make it count obviously, and beat the rest of the level with only melee and knife/sword attacks.

This worked on every level except one for me. I didn’t like it. On easy, you can run right up to guys, shoot them point blank then switch to a knife. After that you can sprint through the rest of the level and most of the time not even lose one star of health. Yuck. But, points is points no matter how cheap they are. I got 855/1000 out of Civil War.

I also earned a couple more (50) out of NHL 07 before sending it back. I talked about NHL 07 in my last Update. A review was posted on Sloppy Potatoes and I’ll be playing NHL2K7, soon.

I also mined a few points from MLB2K7 (70), XBLA’s Heavy Weapon (30). And squeezed 10 out of Alien Hominid.

[...] It’s been a long time since I’ve posted an update on my GamerScore. On April 8, I talked about surpassing the 16,000-point barrier and how it felt a little hollow after getting several points from a budget title (Civil War). [...]
