The Last Guy looks like a must-buy

July 31st, 2008 by ep

I do not own a PS3, and therefore do not have access to The Playstation Store, making The Last Guy unattainable. And that is disappointing.

The Last Guy, a top-down survival game, tasks the player with gathering survivors of a zombie apocalypse and leading them  them to safe zones. It sounds simple and looks simple, but comes across as one of those games you could play for hours without noticing.

Click through the break to watch a video of the new game.

Fantasy football: A primer for 2008

July 27th, 2008 by ep

football

Many players have their own idea how a fantasy football draft is supposed to work. Draft two running backs with your first two picks is the most popular strategy, but I’m here to tell you to think a little differently this year.

You can find information and statistics to back up this sentiment on a lot of Web sites and in a lot of magazines this year. Plain and simple, the value is at quarterback and wide receiver. It flies in the face of everything we know and love about fantasy football, but it is the truth.

Gears2

While gamemakers showed off their impressive graphics (Fallout 3), awesome controls (Halo Wars) and outstanding gameplay (LittleBigPlanet, Rock Band 2) at E3, Gears just stole the show.

Who’s No. 1? It’s LT, don’t even question it

July 16th, 2008 by ep

apeterson

While I think the Minnesota Viking’s Adrian Peterson is a great running back, he’s got too many question marks surrounding him to pick him No. 1 over the San Diego Chargers’  Ladainian Tomlinson.

Why stick with reliable LT over flashy AP? Click through the break

Nooooooo. Alright, it’s not that big a deal. It’s only an announcement, but for Halo and Bungie fans, what the company does and is doing is a big deal. They craft absolutely amazing games so something new is highly-anticipated.

While Bungie President Harold Ryan makes the disappointing announcement at www.bungie.net, there are plenty of rumors out there. For more on those rumors and the post on bungie’s site, click through the break.

A countdown to what at bungie.net?

July 15th, 2008 by ep

With all this crazy E3 stuff going on, the game peoples are freaking out. “OMG! No mention of a Halo prequel at Microsoft’s press conference.” But relax friends and fans, check out www.bungie.net for the goodness… well, sorta.

Shown above is the background image from the site. They got a crazy alert status screen with funny phrases like “Pardon our dust,” “Final notice: Bill past due” and “Obey posted limits” in that red bar across the middle of the screen grab. Something big is coming in about 20 hours. Site relaunch? Maybe but they just revamped the site. I believe it is a big reveal for the next Halo series, which also may coincide with new furniture on the site. It’ll be interesting what they can produce out from under the thumb (and financial backing!?) of Microsoft.

Click through the break to read what I think is coming.
