E3-goers weep at Gears 2’s awesomeness

Gears2

While gamemakers showed off their impressive graphics (Fallout 3), awesome controls (Halo Wars) and outstanding gameplay (LittleBigPlanet, Rock Band 2) at E3, Gears just stole the show.

It helps when Gears 1 was so great both in single and multiplayer. Then, Epic went and made the sequel as “bigger, better and more badass” as claimed. Huge battles, more multiplayer options, dueling chainsaws, meat shields were all on display last week. Yeah, we already knew a lot about those from the announcement trailer. But once reviewers and bloggers got to see Cliff Blezinski playing through a level, they got even more excited.

I’m quite intrigued. GamesRadar gave it a 10 and named it game of show. Evil Avatar called it a top game to watch. Destructoid sounds quite excited about it.

More details, screens and videos will be released between now and the Nov. 7 release date, but the Gears of War 2 Web site is up and running here.
