Chinstrap Ninjas are go!

September 25th, 2008 by ep

imageYep, I’ve co-launched a new Web site with a co-worker that is strictly fantasy sports based. Oh, don’t worry,  there’ll be fantasy sports here, but it’ll be teasers over to www.chinstrapninjas.com. We have great plans for it, and want you to come join us.

Here’s an excerpt from my welcome letter:

We want to build a ninja army, a whole nation of fantasy sports assassins helping each other dice up the competition. However, unlike ninjas, we don’t want to spend all of our time in the shadows. When divisions are clinched, championships are won, and your rewards are raining from the sky onto you, we want everyone to know a ninja did it. And we all want to know about it. We want to celebrate it here at Chinstrap Ninjas. Let us know how you did it, what players put you over the top and what players you beat along the way.

Of course, I’ll still be on www.sloppypotatoes.com pretty regularly with video game news, reviews and random thoughts, lists etc. Fresh SP posts, like my post about some games I’d like seen brought to XBLA, will be as frequent (infrequent?) as they have been over the last few months, meaning once or twice a week. This one doesn’t count, a new post is coming within the hour. Those guys over at Bungie are making us Halo 3 fans continue to drool. And there was a new countdown yesterday, in case you missed it. No funny business this time though.

Xbla360Yes, there have already been quite a few games that have made it to the arcade, but  there are so many more that should be brought back. Reading that RBI Baseball was being brought to Xbox’s Live Arcade made me think, what other games need to return?

I’m not sure about the licensing issues, the publishing rules, etc., but these games deserve to be brought back. Spruce them up with new graphics or make them as is, it doesn’t matter. I’m begging, bring’em back.

Redskins vs. Giants I (2008), get fired up

September 4th, 2008 by ep

A co-worker asked and I started talking about the season-opener, and knowing I’m a Giants fan, he said “it’s only Giants-Redskins.” Eventually, I started rattling obrandonjacobsff some questions/expectations/storylines that I thought made it a great season-opener for the 2008 NFL season.

You really don’t need any reason to watch the NFL season-opener, with it being the season-opener, but here are a few things I will watch for.
