Yep, I’ve co-launched a new Web site with a co-worker that is strictly fantasy sports based. Oh, don’t worry, there’ll be fantasy sports here, but it’ll be teasers over to www.chinstrapninjas.com. We have great plans for it, and want you to come join us.
Here’s an excerpt from my welcome letter:
We want to build a ninja army, a whole nation of fantasy sports assassins helping each other dice up the competition. However, unlike ninjas, we don’t want to spend all of our time in the shadows. When divisions are clinched, championships are won, and your rewards are raining from the sky onto you, we want everyone to know a ninja did it. And we all want to know about it. We want to celebrate it here at Chinstrap Ninjas. Let us know how you did it, what players put you over the top and what players you beat along the way.
Of course, I’ll still be on www.sloppypotatoes.com pretty regularly with video game news, reviews and random thoughts, lists etc. Fresh SP posts, like my post about some games I’d like seen brought to XBLA, will be as frequent (infrequent?) as they have been over the last few months, meaning once or twice a week. This one doesn’t count, a new post is coming within the hour. Those guys over at Bungie are making us Halo 3 fans continue to drool. And there was a new countdown yesterday, in case you missed it. No funny business this time though.

Today is the final day of one of the most awesome vacations on record. So much done, but so little done. Among the things I wanted to do was beat a videogame. I have about 800 or so that are on a will-finish pile, dating back to the PS2, GameCube and Xbox.
I played a couple games of NCAA Football 09, a little Geometry Wars 2 and when a friend stopped over we played a little Halo 3, Gears of War and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 multiplayer, but for the most part I did not really sit down for a gaming session. It’s a little disappointing, but the days were too jampacked with other things. Golf, tennis, many drinks, more golf, a few more drinks and a couple fantasy football drafts.

Why do we play these games we do?
Video games and fantasy sports are fat industries, with guts drooping over their belt buckles. Proudly, I have helped to feed these beasts, and will help turn them into jiggly blobs until death. Video games rock, whether it’s sports games or shooters or racers, I will play them. With fantasy sports I’m a recovering addict, but it does not mean I’ve quit. Yes, my sanity is teetering on the edge of the wagon, ready to tumble off at any moment. But, I need to play. Any video game or fantasy sports fan will tell you they need to play, even if they do not say it in words.

I just went ahead and selected every category for this post.
It’s been a while since I made a real post. There’s been plenty of site updates and links and such, but nothing of real substance.
